You’ve heard of “preaching to the choir,” right? If you haven’t, it’s an idiom that means telling people something that they already agree with or should.
Too often, churches make this and similar mistakes when getting their message out. We either “preach to the choir” or exclude people with our choice of vocabulary.
Live streaming is one of those areas where people want to do it, but don’t quite know where to begin. It wasn’t all that long ago that I was in the same boat, but now that I stream live church tech training 5 days a week, I’m starting to get a handle on it.
Last time on ChurchTechToday, I talked about streaming for almost nothing, but one of the commenters asked for a more concrete description of the bare minimum set up that I recommend.
A couple of months ago I started live streaming on my site five days a week. Like many smaller churches, my budget for all this was pretty much nothing. I’ve since talked to a couple of churches that are in a similar situation, but really do want to live-stream their services for shut-ins or military personnel stationed abroad.
