Graphics design and social media go hand-in-hand. For the church communicator and pastor who need to have all social media channels firing at all times, knowing what sized images and graphics to use both for personal accounts as well as for church social media channels is very important to appear professional and engaged.

The infographic below is a cheat sheet with dimensions on nearly every sized graphic you’ll need for Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube–these channels remain the most-used social media outlets in the world today.

Here at ChurchTechToday, we’ve put together social media ebooks on each of these channels that are aimed at providing quick snapshots of each social media outlet’s characteristics to help you get going if you’ve not yet begun.

Suddenly, creating graphics is a very important skill. There is good news if you’re anything like me and don’t have strong graphic design skills. You can check out this free ebook on using Canva to create the images you need – it’s free and easy-to-use. Canva is a free online graphic design tool. Some of the social media sizes are listed as options in Canva, like Facebook header, but others may require a custom size, which is easy to do within Canva. Here’s a link to Canva’s landing page specifically focused on creating social graphics.

Once you’ve decided what graphics design tool to use, there are others available in addition to Canva, you can make note of the sizes needed for each social media channel thanks to this helpful infographic below:
