Most recently, we came across a fantastic church communication website called Church Juice that is a part of ReFrame Media, a ministry of the Christian Reformed Church. They have agreed to share their free ebook on Church Graphic Design 101 that offers tips, tricks, and hacks for using Canva in ministry.

I welcome you to download this helpful 18-page free resource by visiting Church Juice’s website. Once you input your email, they’ll deliver this step-by-step guide that will walk you through common design projects and share best practices along the way including detailed instructions on how to create:

  1. A church social media graphic
  2. A website graphic with church service times

For each of these sample projects, the author walks the reader through the process of analyzing the audience, what appeals to them, and the call to action.

As the author walks through both of these projects, he using graphics with markups to detail exactly how to create similar designs.

At the end of the ebook, he also provides information on basic design principles including alignment, font choice and readability, design hierarchy, open space and simplicity, and using grids.

Overall, if you have little design experience and your pastor just asked you to start creating graphics for social media, email communication, or the church website, this ebook can help you significantly. Thanks to our friends over at Canva for making this awesome solution free to nonprofits.
