The True Cost of Video Production in 2019 [Infographic]

-

Creating custom church videos was out of reach for most churches in the past. Today, things are quite different because the cost of cameras, talent, and technology have decreased. This is good news for the Church.

A research from Cisco shows that by 2019, video traffic will account for 80% of all consumer internet traffic, up from 67% in 2014.

So you’ve thought about the pros and cons of video content marketing, and you’ve decided to put a video on your website, Congratulations. But inquiring minds would like to know: how much does a video cost these days?

We will cut into the topic—for you nerds out there, the total cost for a do-it-yourself type of video normally costs around $1,300 to $10,000. That estimate is based on a few necessary equipment you will need, such as a video camera, a tripod, backdrop, lighting, external microphone, and a piece of editing software etc.

And for those who are going to work with a video production company or commercial videographers, the total cost can range anywhere from $1,500 all the way up to $100,000 for a 1-2 minute video.

You get it, that’s a very significant price gap. Many video production services don’t offer a standard pricing menu, instead their quotes vary depends on changing factors such as video type, duration, crew, time needed to produce, travel expenses, equipment and post production etc. So it’s pretty difficult to give an accurate and one-size-fits-all answer.

While you’ll probably still have to contact your videographers for a final quote, the infographic below will give you more insight into what goes into producing a video so you can better figure out your video production costs.

Put on your hard hat, and read on.
