How to Use The New AI Image Generator in Canva

The new AI image generator in Canva is an amazing tool that can help you create beautiful, professional-looking images for your blog posts, social media channels, and even your website.

What is an AI Image Generator?

You may have heard of AI image generators, but what are they, and how do they work? An AI image generator is a computer program that creates realistic images from textual descriptions using a deep learning algorithm. This algorithm is trained on a dataset of images and their descriptions so that it can learn to generate images that match the descriptions.

The AI image generator is a tool that can be used to create accurate images of people, objects, or scenes from textual descriptions. This can be useful for creating illustrations or 3D models from text descriptions or for creating photo-realistic images for research or training purposes.

How do AI image generators work?

AI image generators work by first learning from a dataset of images and their descriptions. This dataset is used to train a deep learning algorithm, which is then able to generate new images that match the description. The generated images are not perfect copies of the original images but are rather similar enough to be realistic.

For example, if you were to train an AI image generator on a dataset of pictures of people's faces, it would be able to generate new faces that look realistic but are not identical to any of the faces in the dataset.

What is the Stable Diffusion AI Image Generator that Canva Uses?

According to the creators of Stable Diffusion, “Stable Diffusion is an advanced AI text-to-image synthesis algorithm that can generate very coherent images based on a text prompt. It's commonly used for generating artistic images, but can also generate images that look more like photos or sketches.”

“Unlike previous AI text-to-image algorithms like VQGAN+CLIP, CLIP-Guided Diffusion and even Latent Diffusion, Stable Diffusion is quite good at generating faces. It's also good at generating realistic 3D scenes.”

What are some uses for AI image generators for churches?

AI image generators can be used for a variety of purposes, such as creating illustrations or 3D models from text descriptions or generating photo-realistic images for social media or training curriculum design purposes.

For example, AI image generators can be used to create illustrations of people or objects from textual descriptions. This can be useful for creating illustrations for sermon illustrations, blog posts or event promotion materials.

Furthermore, AI image generators can be used to generate photo-realistic images – even using photo-realistic images. This can be useful for generating synthetic photos for generating pictures of people with different hairstyles or facial expressions.

The applications are endless once you start understanding the kinds of outputs that are possible. Once you get the hang of it, you could use it to create:

– Customized illustrations for each step of your sermon outline

– Visual aids to help explain difficult concepts

– PowerPoint slideshows

– Social media content

– And much more!

The question is – as these AI Image Generators get better and better over time — will we ever need to spend so much time searching for the right royalty-free stock photos ever again?

Canva Support For Stable Fusion AI Image Generator

The best part of this innovation front is that Canva, has started to incorporate the Stable Diffusion AI Generator function totally integrated into the design environment.  So if you're logged into Canva, you have immediate and direct access to the AI tool while you're designing something.

Here's a quick guide on how to use the Canva AI Image Generator.

Getting Started with Canva AI Images

First, you'll need to create an account with Canva. Once you've set one up, you can then access the AI image generator by clicking on the “create a design” button and selecting any format to get your design canvas ready to design.

Generating Your AI Image With Canva “Text to Image {Beta}”

Once you're on the blank canvas, click on the “MORE” option in the left-hand index (all the way at the bottom).

From there, you'll see a number of different options.  Search for “text to image,” and you should find a module.

Click on the “image to text” icon and then the pane will change to that module.

From there, just input the text description (be as specific as possible).  Select the type of image you want to be generated (you might try the “surprise me” option first to get a sense of what it can produce).

And then you just wait. Voila!  Two options are presented in the generator pane.

Once you've found an image you like, click on it to insert it onto your canvas to the right.

From there, you can start over, produce a different image, or just go with what you created!

Here's what I got for the phrase “boy flying a kite with red clouds” — not bad right?
