The 2024 AI & The Church Hackathon is a unique event designed to foster the development of AI-driven solutions that support the faith community and promote human flourishing.

Taking place in Boulder, Colorado, from September 13 to September 15, this hackathon invites participants come with a team, or join on on-site to collaborate on innovative projects over the 48-hour period.

Event Overview

Purpose and Focus:
The hackathon aims to rapidly advance AI-based solutions that address the needs of churches and individuals. Participants will work on projects that support mental and physical health, spiritual growth, relational and vocational development, and financial well-being. This is the 2nd annual hackathon, with the first one held in 2023.

Location and Duration:
This in-person event will be held at Gloo in Boulder, Colorado, with participants working from designated rooms or anywhere around Boulder. A remote team member option is available.

Friday, September 13th:

Participation and Judging

Eligibility and Teams:
Participants aged 18 and over, from all backgrounds, are welcome. Teams of up to five members will be formed, with opportunities for individuals to join teams at the event.

Judging Criteria:
Projects will be evaluated based on concept/product, innovation, impact and execution, use of AI, and teamwork/presentation. A panel of judges will assess entries, and an independent team will verify the code.

Prizes and Opportunities

The hackathon offers a prize pool of $250,000, with awards for categories such as Best Overall, Best Tech, Best Design, Best Concept, Best Storytelling, and Best of Challenge. Winning teams will also have the opportunity to co-develop their solutions with support from the Gloo accelerator and partners.
