Effective and user-friendly church presentation software is a necessity for pastors and church communicators committed to creating stellar church presentations. Since last January's 2.0 version release, Faithlife’s Proclaim 2.0 Church Presentation Software has made a number of notable updates as of January 2018. While this is not a full version software release, just a key update to Proclaim 2.0, now technically known as Proclaim 2.6, there is plenty to pay attention to.
ChurchTechToday reviewed Proclaim 2.0 in January 2017 and the first Proclaim release in 2015. Today, Proclaim is back again with several significant enhancements:
Here are 8 notable updates to Proclaim’s Church Presentation Software:
#1 – Digital Signage
Allows churches to create digital signs and display them on monitors throughout their church:
- Display announcements, Bible Art, and live feeds of your service on monitors throughout your church building
- Monitors are connected via Wi-Fi and announcements can be managed on any monitor from any computer
- Target announcement by room (e.g. announce youth retreats on monitors in the youth center)
- Set slides to automatically expire after the event passes so your announcements stay up to date
#2 – Lighting Scenes
Gives churches the ability to run stage lighting through Proclaim software:
- Control lights from the stage using Proclaim’s Signals feature with MIDI technology
- Select recommended color schemes for automated scene building
- Compatible with affordable, off-the-shelf lights like Philips Hue bulbs and LED light strips
#3 – Digital Bulletins
Automatically generates digital church bulletins from your presentation
- Edit bulletins in Faithlife.com to exclude or adjust any items from your presentation
- Post the bulletin to your church’s Faithlife group for easy access
- Members and visitors can use the bulletin to download event calendars, fill out digital connect cards, and more
#4 – Media Boards
Most requested feature that creates presentation space (e.g. Pinterest style “media boards”) for presentation groups to organize:
- Create boards with a collection of media pieces and templates based on theme (e.g. “Forest,” a collection of media with elements of trees and fields)
- Access the board easily in the Boards section of Proclaim’s Media Browser
#5 – Custom Media Templates
Allows churches to create their own media templates:
- Create your own smart media templates, choosing from a host of backgrounds, text types, and layouts
- Set any template as your default template by service item type (e.g., every lyric slide matches a certain template)
- Access all templates quickly in the Group Uploads folder
#6 – Community Media
Enables the whole Proclaim community to share custom-made media with each other:
- Increases the number of free media on Proclaim considerably, and ensures the number keeps growing
- Find community media easily under its designated tab and by using search terms tagged by the template’s creator
#7 – Bible Trivia
Added feature that allows church leaders to play Bible Trivia with their congregation:
- Add Bible Trivia to any presentation
- Edit the look, question count, and speed
- Publish your presentation as a bulletin so people can access the trivia and answer questions from their phones
#8 – Quick Screens
Allows the presentation manager to launch a giant “Amen!”, “Hallelujah!”, “Praise the Lord!” or floating hearts across a slide:
- Quickly display content on the screen that is not part of your current presentation using keyboard shortcuts
- Enjoy a variety of Quick Screens, each accessed through a different keyboard shortcut, such as:
- Church logo
- On-Screen Bible
- Amen!, Hallelujah!, and Praise the Lord!
- Floating Hearts
- Blank screens
- Last Shown
With this many robust features, Proclaim will be a great option for your church media team.
