Faith-Focused Images Fill Void in Church Community

As a blogger in the church technology market over the last five years, I’ve felt a void; there’s been a significant lacking in the way of faith-focused images that adequately represent the Church. I’m sure you’ve felt the void too. When I came across Lightstock a few weeks back, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I wasn’t the only one frustrated about the selection of available faith themed images available on the internet. Others were frustrated too, and went out and formed a company to help people just like you and me.

Launched in late November 2012, Lightstock is a faith-focused, safe-searching, carefully-curated stock photography website geared exclusively for the Christian community. Its images are perfect for any number of church or ministry uses, whether it’s for bulletins, church websites, sermon slides, worship backgrounds, or video illustrations.

We had this big dream in our hearts that Lightstock could fundamentally change the way Christian designers, chief-creatives and church staff members go about their creative endeavors for Christ’s kingdom,” explain Lightstock Founders, Jon & Josh Bailey, when asked to explain what compelled them to create Lightstock.

For nearly a year we’ve been on an unrelenting journey to forge a strong link – connecting an army of faith-based photographers to the Christian community at large – an audience, hungry for meaningful visual resources.”

Lightstock changes the game in the Christian media space by filling a gaping hole with faith-focused content that can’t be found anywhere else. Professional photos portraying Biblical themes are no longer a distant wish, but a concrete reality as Lightstock and its customers help to tell an old, old story in new and visually compelling ways.

I’m extremely thankful to Lightstock for filled a void in the market. Whether you’re a church communicator looking for just the right image for the e-newsletter, a blogging pastor looking for images to run with blog posts, or a church tech blogger like me, you’ll be tickled pink by what Lightstock offers to the Christian community.

Just like many of the other stock images websites out there, with Lightstock, you buy credits, then download images as you go. One perk they also offer is the option to “request an image” and have one of their community of photographers shoot the exact shot you’re looking for. It’s a win-win for everyone involved. They even offer a free image download of the week. Happy downloading!

What faith-focused image have you had a hard time finding?
