In case you haven’t heard, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that takes place on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving.

This year, #GivingTuesday falls on November 29.

Since it was founded in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become an increasingly popular way for people to give back to causes they care about.

Here are seven statistics about #GivingTuesday that you may not have known.

1. In 2020, a total of $2.47 billion was raised worldwide on #GivingTuesday, up from $1.97 billion in 2019. This represents a 27% increase from the year before. (Source: GivingTuesday)

6. 54% of donors say they are interested in donating to a new organization on #GivingTuesday 2021. 

7. The most popular social media platform used for #GivingTuesday promotion is Facebook, followed by Twitter and Instagram.
