Why I Love Twitter
I really, really love Twitter, here’s why:
- It’s super easy to connect with people without red tape, without filters, or without someone asking you if you already know someone.
- It’s simple to search for people and follow them, whether or not they ever follow you back. You can still stay connected by reading their Tweets.
- I’ve found a plethora of great people out their sharing valuable information that I would never have found without following them on Twitter.
- I learn from and am encouraged by many people out there, especially pastors and other churches.
- It fosters a “partnership mentality” and reminds me that we are all in this together, many of us working toward similar goals. The world is not so large.
I recently launched a Twitter feed at http://www.twitter.com/ChurchTechToday, and/or you can find me at http://www.twitter.com/laurenhhunter.
Happy Tweeting!

5 good reasons for twitter but I find the longer I use it the less enamoured of it I am.
Especially when it comes to your point 5 – “it fosters a partnership mentality”. Your point that there are many working towards similar goals is right but I have to constantly remind myself that similar goals does not mean similar values, beliefs or viewpoints and get frustrated when the “partnership” – lets call it networking – of twitter fails miserably.
The site was created around principles of networking yet so few on twitter understand that networking is a two way street. They talk about it but don’t actually undertake it themselves.
Anyway, added both your feeds to my follows and to my ChurchIT list.
