CCB Launches iPhone Interface

The folks at Church Community Builder (CCB) launched a wonderful iPhone interface today that will give other web-based church management software solutions (ChMS) a run for their money. CCB is a unique ChMS offering that combines church management features with socially-driven communication and connection tools. The company already offers PDA interface, and now the iPhone interface allows for even more connectedness via mobile phones.

Here’s a bit about the app from their press release:

CCB has offered a PDA/Mobile interface for some time; however, the new iPhone interface is designed specifically for that device and includes features not previously available. Users can add the CCB iPhone application icon to their iPhone Home Screen and quickly access important profile information on church members. They can access photos, email addresses, and phone numbers, and then immediately send a message or initiate a call. They can access maps and obtain driving directions. They can also view other important information about members such as birthdays, allergies, spiritual gifts, interests, hobbie s, days available to serve, and more. Finally, with the correct privileges, a pastor can actually edit a member’s profile, allowing them to quickly correct critical profile information on the fly. In short, the CCB iPhone application equips pastors, leaders, and volunteers to better know and serve those in their care even when they are away from the church office. Does anyone know of any other ChMS systems that offer iPhone interface? I’m not sure anyone else has a live application yet, and so CCB is on the cutting-edge yet again.

Stafftool.com has offered an iPhone interface for quite a while (since launch?); here’s a blog entry about it: http://stafftool.com/blog/2007/12/20/your-church-in-your-pocket/

  3. Not sure if I’m answering your question, but You Version is a version of the Bible on the iPhone. And its free.

I think a lot of the Google maps mashups on iPhone will have great church application.
