Is Windows 8 for You?

I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials on TV and possibly even waited with anticipation for Windows 8 to hit the shelves. Or, maybe you’re like me and you don’t really like spending money on computer programs that may or may not make a big difference in your day-to-day productivity.
Although it’s been my experience that the next Windows upgrade doesn’t necessarily become a must-have until you have to upgrade say, Quicken, to manage your bills and you upgrade that program and realize you’re running Windows XP, then you have no choice but to upgrade your operating system.
Or, maybe you’re a Mac person. That’s a discussion for another day.
I’ve assembled a list of links to some of the best reviews of Windows 8 and some of the new PCs and Tablets that run it for you to find out if it’s worth it for you to upgrade, or (gasp) sell your iPad on Craig’s List and switch to a Windows Tablet (blasphemy).

So there you have it, a smattering of reviews to help you make an informed choice. Here’s a link to another post with a fun infographic about Windows 8.
If you already bit the Windows 8 bullet, would you leave a comment with your feedback about how you like the interface so far?

One Comment on "Is Windows 8 for You?"
There is a lot of negative press about windows 8 and most of it was written only after the writer used it for a couple of hours. Some of them even admit to not using it but only experimenting with it at the store. Windows 8 is a great departure from the old so people feel lost when they first use it. You just have to remember back when you first used windows didn’t you feel the same way too. For many its been a long time since you felt that way with Windows so its just uncomfortable. My suggestion is to buy it for the 40 now because you don’t know how long that is going to last, then just play with it for about a week and you will learn to love how simple and modern it is.
