12 Church Technology Goals for 2012

-

Goal setting is one of the hallmarks of beginning a new year. There are many great articles and blog posts about goal setting that come out around this time; there are also wonderful leaders like Michael Hyatt who have written life planning ebooks to help us all take life by the horns and steer it as best we can in the direction in which we feel God wants us to go.

Here are 12 possible church technology goals that you might wish to apply to your ministry. If you have additional suggestions, please leave a comment and share one of your personal goals below.

12 Possible Church Technology Goals for the New Year:

  1. Blog at least once a week.
  2. Update the church's Facebook and Twitter accounts on a daily basis.
  3. Update the church website daily or weekly.
  4. Send regular email newsletters to the congregation (include video if you can).
  5. Make better use of church management software to track involvement.
  6. Make sure to follow up with visitors as quickly as possible through email, snail mail, a phone call, or a visit.
  7. Add fresh images and video to your church website homepage.
  8. Interview a new believer on video and share their testimony during service.
  9. Use email, video, and all other communication tools to encourage your members to get involved in a small group.
  10. Have each small group leader identify one potential new leader to train.
  11. Use your church software to post possible volunteer openings.
  12. Set your own personal and church goals for 2012. Keep them simple. Use Evernote to keep track of your progress.
Happy New Year! I pray a blessing on your ministry that God will guide you as you seek to incorporate technology into your strategy to spread the Gospel.

  1. These aren’t techy. These are mostly communications tips with some electronic methods utilized. I am interested in new technologies. Show me the code & apps & websites that are tools & hardware that are good. I am a pastor and want to to know if there is phone on computer options for our building, open source church management softwares, file sharing networks for churches. Let’s get together. What are some things I can promote to other pastors?
